(Joh 1:1-4) In the beginning was the Word & the Word was with God & the Word was God. All things were made through him. In him was life.

(Joh 1:12-13) But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

(Joh 1:14) The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we have seen his glory, the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

(Joh 1:16-18) From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth through Jesus.

(Joh 1:29-34) When John saw Jesus coming, he said "Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" Spirit descended as dove.

(Joh 1:35-42) Jesus invites Andrew & John to "come and see". They came, saw and spent day with him. We have found the messiah.

(Joh 1:45-46) Philip found Nathanael & said, ‑We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote … come and see.­

(Joh 1:51) You will see heaven opened & angels ascending & descending on the Son of Man. c.f. Jacob’s ladder. Jesus is ladder to heaven.

(Joh 2:1-11) Purification water turned into wine of the kingdom. A sign manifesting Jesus’ glory, responded to with faith.

(Joh 2:13-21) Zeal for God’s house consumes Jesus Psa 69:9. Destroy this temple & raised in three days. Disciples remember when he is raised

(Joh 3:3,5) Unless one is born from above no one can see the kingdom of God. Being born from above means born of water and the Spirit.

(Joh 3:14-15) As Moses lifted up serpent in wilderness so must Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

(Joh 3:16-17,36) God so loved the world that he gave his Son, whoever believes not perish or condemned in wrath but has eternal life.

(Joh 3:31-35) Jesus is from above, speaks God’s words, gives the Spirit and all things given into his hand.

(Joh 4:13) The water that that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

(Joh 4:23) The hour is coming & is now here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit & truth for the Father seeks such people.

(Joh 4:25-26) I know that Messiah is coming. When he comes, he will tell us all things. In other words, Jesus is the Prophet like Moses.

(Joh 4:50) Jesus said to him, ‑Go; your son lives.­ The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way.

(Joh 5:14) Jesus raises up a lame man and later says to him ‑See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.­

(Joh 5:17-18) By saying My Father and I both work on the Sabbath, Jesus is claiming equality with God in essence although submissive.

(Joh 5:19-24) The Son does what he sees the Father doing. The Father in love shows the son all things. As Father raises dead so too the Son.

(Joh 5:25-29) An hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

(Joh 5:28-29) An hour is coming when those in tombs will hear his voice & come out, to resurrection of life or to resurrection of judgment.

(Joh 5:30-47) John the Baptist, the works given to Jesus by the Father, the Father himself, the Scriptures and Moses all witness to Jesus.

(Joh 6:14) When the people saw the sign of the bread they said, ‑This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!­

(Joh 6:16-20) Jesus walks on the water. Jesus is God in the flesh. Yahweh Psa 65:7, 89:9, 93:4, 107:29.

(Joh 6:27) Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you.

(Joh 6:37) All who the Father gives To Jesus will come & he who comes Jesus will never cast out in obedience to his Father.

(Joh 6:40) This is the will of my Father that everyone who believes on Son should have eternal life & I will raise him up on the last day.

(Joh 6:44-45) No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me.

(Joh 6:51) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever, unlike manna in wilderness.

(Joh 6:68-69) Peter answered him, ‑Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. You are the Holy One of God.­

(Joh 7:37-39) Tabernacles & water in wilderness. Jesus said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ i.e. the Spirit.

(Joh 8:6-8) Woman caught in adultery. Jesus writes in the dust Jer 17:13. Let those without sin cast first stone. Jesus doesn’t condemn her.

(Joh 8:12) Tabernacles & pillar of fire. "I am light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but have the light of life."

(Joh 8:29) Te Father has sent Jesus, is with him and has not left him alone. Jesus always does the things that are pleasing to him.

(Joh 8:51) "Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death."

(Joh 8:58) Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."

(Joh 9:3) Re: blind man, Jesus said, "It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.

(Joh 9:5-7) Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." He made mud with saliva & anointed man’s eyes with it, telling him to go & wash.

(Joh 10:3-4) The sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name. He goes before them, they follow him and he leads them out.

(Joh 10:7-9) Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. If anyone enters, he will be saved and will go in & out & find pasture.

(Joh 10:11,14) I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. I know my own and my own know me.

(Joh 10:16) I have other sheep not of this fold i.e. Gentiles. They will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

(Joh 10:17-18) No one takes my life from me. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.

(Joh 10:28-29) I give them eternal life, they will never perish and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father has given them to me.

(Joh 10:30,38) I and the Father are one. The Father is in me and I am in the Father.

(Joh 11:4) Lazarus. This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.

(Joh 11:25-26) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."

(Joh 11:38,44) Lazarus, a cave with a stone, hands and feet bound with linen strips, face wrapped with a cloth. Sounds like Jesus’ burial.

(Joh 11:43-44) Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out." Jesus said to them, "Unbind him and let him go." c.f. Joh 5:25, 28-29

(Joh 11:49-52) Caiaphas the high priest prophesied not of his own accord. Better that one man should die than whole nation should perish.

(Joh 12:2-3) Mary took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair.

(Joh 12:14-16) Jesus riding on a donkey. These things had been written about him Zec 9:9. Disciples remembered after he was glorified.

(Joh 12:23) "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified." The hour c.f. Joh 2:4; 7:30; 8:20; 8:59; 10:39; 12:27; 13:1; 17:1

(Joh 12:24) Truly, truly, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

(Joh 12:27-28) Soul troubled. Shall I ask Father to save from this hour? Father glorify your name. Voice from heaven speaks of his glory.

(Joh 12:31) Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.

(Joh 12:32-33) "And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself."

(Joh 12:37-41) Many signs met with unbelief fulfilling Isa 53:1; 6:1. Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him.

(Joh 13-17) Themes of love, obedience and joy.

(Joh 13:4-5) Laid aside his outer garments, took a towel, tied it around his waist, poured water into a basin, began to wash disciples’ feet

(Joh 13:30) And it was night when Judas left the meal. Acting in the night is not good in John’s gospel c.f. Joh 3:2;9:4;11:10;13:30;19:39.

(Joh 13:34) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

(Joh 14:2) In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

(Joh 14:6) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

(Joh 14:26) The Helper, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach & bring to remembrance all that I have said to you.

(Joh 15:1-3) I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Branches are cut off or cut clean, that is, pruned by the word.

(Joh 15:4-8) Abide in me, and I in you so that you bear much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing. No fruit means cut off & burned.

(Joh 15:9-11) As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love by keeping my commandments so your joy will be full.

(Joh 15:12-13) This is my commandment, that you love one another with the love that lays down one’s life for friends.

(Joh 15:15) Jesus calls us friends because unlike with servants he has made known to us what he is doing. C.f. Gen 18:17

(Joh 15:16) You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide.

(Joh 15:26) The Helper, whom I will send to you, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.

(Joh 16:13-15) The Spirit of truth will guide you into all the truth, for he will speak to you what he hears from me.

(Joh 16:24) Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

(Joh 16:33) In me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

(Joh 17:2) The Father gave us to Jesus i.e. predestination & preservation c.f. Joh 17:2,6,9,24; 18:9; 6:39; 10:29; 15:16

(Joh 17:5) Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

(Joh 17:15) I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.

(Joh 17:24) Father I desire that those given me may be with me to see my glory you gave me because you loved me before foundation of world.

(Joh 18:1) Jesus went out with his disciples across the Kidron Valley, where there was a garden, which he and his disciples entered.

(Joh 18:6) When Jesus said to them, "I am he," they drew back and fell to the ground. This is how people usually respond to divine presence.

(Joh 19:1-5,14) Jesus flogged, crown of thorns, purple robe, behold the man, crucify him, behold your king, crucify him.

(Joh 19:11) Jesus said to Pilate, "You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above."

(Joh 19:16) They took Jesus, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.

(Joh 19:23-24) Soldiers divide Jesus’ garments & cast lots for his tunic Psa 22:18.

(Joh 19:28-30) In order to fulfil Scripture Jesus said "I thirst." Psa 69:21 "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

(Joh 19:31-36) These things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: "Not one of his bones will be broken." Psa 34:20

(Joh 19:31-36) Jesus’ side pierced out flows blood and water. As Scripture says, "They will look on him whom they have pierced." Zec 12:10

(Joh 19:38-42) Joseph of Arimathea provides a tomb and Nicodemus a mixture of myrrh and aloes. Jesus’ body bound in linen cloths.

(Joh 20:1) While still dark on first day of week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early and saw that the stone had been taken away from tomb.

(Joh 20:6-7) Peter & John see the tomb empty, the linen cloths lying there and the face cloth folded up in a place by itself.

(Joh 20:16) Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned and said to him in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

(Joh 20:19-20) Sunday evening, locked doors, Jesus showed them his hands and his side. Disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

(Joh 20:28-29) Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

(Joh 20:30-31) Many other signs not written in this book. These written that you might believe Jesus is the Christ & by believing have life.

(Joh 21:1,22) Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. Cast net on other side to catch fish. Follow me.

(Joh 21:15-19)Despite Peter’s sin in denying Jesus now restored to shepherd God’s people by feeding & tending them. Peter will be crucified.

(Joh 21:25) If all the things Jesus did were written the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
